The Golden Lily (Bloodlines #2)

I finished this book at 4:51am this morning. (Yes, it's that good). I have decided that this series is better than the Vampire Academy series. Don't get me wrong I loved VA! But none of those books kept me up till the early morning hours.

Also I am officially an Adrian Fan!

Mead did a fantastic job on this character. I enjoy reading anything about Adrian and was excited when I learn that he was going to be a part of this series. (And let's be honest if we could find a guy like him in real life we would jump on him.) This is why it's fiction! Well, that and the vamp stuff to.

Now I know that the main character is Sydney so I guess I should give my opinion of her. Although I could just talk about Adrian all day. Anyway, I love Sydney's character as well. She is intelligent, pretty, and confident as long as she is not in a social situation of course. Sydney is a well written character all around. Mead is able to make her a strong, smart character without making her come across as a snob even when she is spouting out information that most of us wouldn't know about.

I am a bit sad thought that I read this one so quickly. Now I have the daunting task of waiting for the next one, Ugg! Likely I have a lot of other books that I can read in the mean time, although I do hate reading different series' at the same time. But this is what happens when you can't wait for the entire series to be released.

I'm getting off track though.

This book is even better than the first of this series. I don't say this a lot because I find that the first book is usually the best in any series. However, after reading The Golden Lily, I can say that I am elated with the story line and where she is going with the characters. Mead did an excellent job of keeping the reader interested by keeping the pace of the story going. One major PP I have with some books is that they are to slow. I lose interest because 1. The story is being dragged out to much 2. I am able to figure out what is going to happen long before it does. Mead doesn't do this. She has an uncanny ability to know just the right moments to give hints or  have certain conversations happen to keep the reader hooked.

I must say though that the last chapter of this book is by far my favorite. It was a very satisfying when to leave off. I gave me what I was hoping for by the end while still leaving me hanging and eager for the next book.  

Therefore, my official opinion of this book is:

Readers will NOT be disappointed!
